Hetalia: The stolen bicycles

A second World War pic.
Facts:
A lot of Dutch bicycles were confiscated in the war.
Mainly to prevent targeted people to escape, it was forbidden to have a bicycle in the Netherlands (certain professions were excempted from this).
A large part of the bicycles were sent to Germany and some (older) Dutch people are still angry about this theft.
The background was based of an old pic of the Dam (Amsterdam)

Hetalia:
In this pic I tried to get Netherlands to look angry, but I think he is more irritated. Because he is weakened by the war, he cannot win from Germany in this fight.
In my head Germany would not like to do this to Netherlands, but he was ordered to.

Hetalia: Don't leave me

Spain just can not let Netherlands go. Even though he has grown up and never liked to work for Spain, Spain just asks him one last time.

Hetalia: a little comic

A 2-panel comic about Netherlands and his love for bunnies. I think is slowly becoming an obsession.

Hetalia: the Hair

"Why are you touching my hair?"
"It is so lovely. I want to play with it."
"No!"

Netherlands hair is a real pain. It really gives him character, but I don't know how he manages to do that every day.

Hetalia: the scarf again

What is better than drawing Belgium and Netherlands with the scarf?
Netherlands is in him battle armour, which was a bit tricky because I have no idea when Dutch people would use this kind of uniform. I know he was depicted like this in an early episode on Hetalia. Therefore what Belgium is wearing, could be way off. But I did not want to spent more hours looking up proper uniforms of the same time.

I imagine that Belgium has made the scarf one day and to support her brother, gave it to him.

Hetalia: Not little anymore

Probably the best work of my hand yet.
Brother and sister Netherlands and Belgium.
Since the independance of Belgium, they sometimes have arguments, but mostly they are friendly with each other.

Hetalia: scarf and boots

Sometimes you have to show a little flesh.
Believe me, this is nothing compared to what some (much better) artist will show you.

Hetalia: the scarf

I probably have said it before, but I love the scarf. The length varies considerably in my work, but you hardly see him without.
Does he need to add some length, though?

Hetalia: Nijntje and Netherlands

I really wanted to depict Netherlands with his favourite bunny. Nijntje (or Miffy) is from the lovely Dick Bruna, who unfortunately now is retired.
According to the character description of Netherlands, he loves bunnies and I think he can charm anyone with his collection of Nijntje.

Hetalia: smoking hot

I am a bit obsessed with the Netherlands character from Hetalia (by Hidekaz Himaruya).
There is not a lot to say about this picture. Netherlands is most of the time depicted with a pipe or a sigaret. And he has a scarf.
I do not know why, but I love the scarf. It is flowy and drapey. Just like it.

Hetalia: Brothers Germany and Prussia

Possible the most popular pair from Hetalia (btw, I do not mean anything with pair, but be very very careful if you do not like yaoi and try to search them).
Hidekaz Himaruya does not only use countries as characters, but also micronations, regions and empires that have faded away. Prussia is one of the non-countries and in the Hetalia canon, he is the big brother of Germany.
Germany and Prussia are most of the time depicted with these uniforms. The main story of Hetalia plays at the time of the world wars. It is suggested that Prussia could also be the representation of East Germany.
Enjoy

Hetalia: More art

This is supposed to be Belgium (based of Hetalia version, Hetalia is by Hidekaz Himaruya)
I put up a link to the wiki-site in my former Hetalia blog.
However, I would like to say a bit about what Hetalia is about.

Mainly, all countries are represented as characters, with their own personalities and traits. The series' main presentation is as an often over-the-top allegory of political and historic events as well as more general cultural comparisons.
Himaruya originally created Hetalia as an online webcomic, but things went total crazy with the anime.

Enjoy my version of Belgium.

Hetalia: Renewed fan

I was a fan before, then I got bored with it... And now I am a fan anew. Even though the anime is 5 minutes long per episode, I love it.
And even more now they have an entire episode of Netherlands (see below my sort of attempt to draw him).

For the people who do not know this anime, be careful when searching for it.
Even though it was made with the best intentions by the amazing Hidekaz Himaruya, the style he uses had a lot of fans yaoi crazy. (for the innocent among us:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yaoi).
But I love the series, both manga and anime. I will post a lot of fan-art on this blog.
